These gems are a great addition to any cheese board. They're gluten free, dairy free, vegan and easy to make!
You can make them a few days in advance of a party and serve on the day, or take them with you to work, uni, school or travelling as a healthy snack.
What you need:
- 1/2 cup chia seeds
- 1/2 cup flaxseeds
- 1/4 cup pepitas
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds (you can use any mixture of seeds you like)
- pinch of Himalayan or sea-salt
- Any herbs/spices you like (we used Herbamare)
- 1 cup of water
What to do:
-
Preheat oven to 150 degrees celsius.
-
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and let it sit for around 10 minutes so the chia seeds soak up the water and the mixture combines together.
-
Place some baking paper on a tray, then using the back of a spoon or a spatula, spread out the mixture onto the baking paper. If there’s any gaps that’s ok, they’re easily patched when you press the spoon back over it.
-
Place in the oven for 30 minutes, or until they’re looking golden-brown and crispy.
-
Take out of the oven and cut into crackers (any shape/size you like), then carefully flip them over.
-
Place back into the oven for around another 30 minutes, but keep an eye on them and take them out earlier if they’re looking good!
To serve:
We love these crackers when they're topped with Brie cheese, and then sprinkled with KOJA Fig & Hazelnut - see our pic above! You can also eat them on their own or serve with whatever you like- think dips (hummus is our fave), or topped with mashed avocado, tomato slices, baby spinach, drizzled in olive oil and a sprinkling of Himalayan salt. YUM!
Hope you enjoy!
