Got some KOJA Salad Toppers sitting in your cupboard and thinking you can only use them on salads? Well think again! These versatile little clusters of goodness can be used in so many ways, so open up your imagination and explore the endless possibilities.
This genius creation came to me on an afternoon when I was searching the cupboards for a decadent snack. The idea crossed my mind and I wasn’t sure if I should try it, as I wondered if the flavours would work well together, but let me tell you, they most definitely did!!
This is now my new favourite go-to snack when the munchies creep in. It’s quick and simple, and so nutritious as well- what more could you want!?
It’s the perfect combination of sweet and spicy and the juicy, crisp texture of the apple pairs really well with the crunchy coconut flakes. The flavours you’ll find bursting in your mouth will leave you wanting more!
WHAT TO DO:
Any apple variety will work for this. Our choice was some organic red apples that were so juicy, flavoursome and smelled delicious!
We sliced ours thinly to get as much surface area as we could so we could sprinkle on lots of KOJA ;)
Arrange your apple slices on a plate, and drizzle them with some rice malt syrup, which adds a touch of extra sweetness and helps the topping to stick to the apple. You could also try some raw honey if you prefer, which would give it a different taste.
And for the final step, shower your apple slices in KOJA Chilli Coconut and Pecan!
If you’re anything like me, you won’t be able to stop at one apple, and will find yourself in the kitchen preparing seconds in no time!
This would also be awesome with slices of Brie or crumbled blue cheese, and would be great as an Appertif with a glass of wine!
